Introduction

SimpleFill turns the things you type on repeat into things you type once. Here’s what it does and how the pieces fit together.

SimpleFill is a browser extension for Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari. You save the things you type again and again: a signature, a support reply, your address, a whole invoice. Then you insert them anywhere on the web with a short shortcut like ;sig, a right-click, or a quick search.

It goes further than copy and paste. A saved reply can ask for the customer’s name as it goes in, add today’s date on its own, pick up the title of the page you’re on, and let AI polish what you wrote, all without leaving the text box you’re typing in.

What you can do with SimpleFill

How it feels

Say you answer the same question from customers every day. You save the answer as a snippet with the shortcut thx. In a support ticket, you type:

;thx

and press Space. SimpleFill replaces those four characters with your full reply, formatting and all. If the reply has a Field for the customer’s name, a small window asks you for it first. If it has a Smart Field for today’s date, the date is already there.

Don’t want to remember shortcuts? Press ⌘ Shift Space (or Ctrl Shift Space on Windows and Linux) to open Quick Access, type a word or two, and press Enter.

Where it works

SimpleFill works in the places you write: ordinary text boxes, Gmail, Slack, Notion, LinkedIn, HubSpot, editors embedded in other apps, and even Google Docs, where most text expanders give up.
