# Quick Access

> One keyboard shortcut to search every snippet, form, Smart Field, and AI action, without leaving the page.

Quick Access is a search box for everything you’ve saved. Press one keyboard shortcut on any page, type a word or two, and press Enter. It’s the easiest way to use SimpleFill when you don’t remember a shortcut, or don’t want to.

## Open Quick Access

| On | Press |
| --- | --- |
| Mac | `⌘ Shift Space` |
| Windows, Linux, ChromeOS | `Ctrl Shift Space` |

Or click the **SimpleFill icon** in your browser’s toolbar.

> [!NOTE]
> Browsers manage extension shortcuts themselves. If the shortcut doesn’t work, another extension may already use it. Go to **Settings** > **General** > **Quick Access shortcut** to open your browser’s shortcut page and pick another.

## What you can find

Quick Access searches:

- **Snippets**, by name, shortcut, folder, and text
- **Saved forms** that match the current page, shown as **Fill** and the form’s name
- **AI actions**, which run on the text box you were in
- **Smart Fields** you can type on a page, like the date or the page’s link
- **Commands**, like **Save current form…**, **Open Snippets**, **Open AI Actions**, **Open SimpleFill settings**, and **Open Import / Export**

## Use it

1. Click in the text box you want to fill.
2. Open Quick Access.
3. Type to search. Use the **Up** and **Down** arrows to choose.
4. Press **Enter**.

SimpleFill inserts the result where your cursor was. If you had text selected, only the selection is replaced. Press **Esc** to close without doing anything.

## Smart suggestions

Before you type anything, Quick Access shows **Suggested** items for the box you’re in. It reads the field’s label and type, so an *Email* field puts your email snippet at the top. Things you use often rank higher too.

It can also put separate snippets together. If a folder has snippets named for the parts, Quick Access offers:

- **Full name**, from first and last name
- **Full address**, from street, city, state, postal code, and country
- **Phone number with extension**
- **Date of birth**, from day, month, and year, in the format the page asks for
- **Card expiration date**, from month and year

## Works where shortcuts don’t

Quick Access works on sites where you’ve turned off shortcuts or suggestions with [site rules](https://simplefill.app/docs/site-rules), and in tricky editors like Google Docs and editors embedded in other apps.

## Examples

- Focus an email field, open Quick Access, and press Enter: your email is in.
- Type `invoice` and press Enter to insert your invoice template.
- On a checkout page, choose **Save current form…** to save your address for next time.
- Select a paragraph, open Quick Access, type `summ`, and press Enter to summarize it with AI.
